About the WCED @HomeLearning Programme
The YearBeyond WCED @HomeLearning Programme is a community-based initiative that strengthens support for learners from low- and no-fee public primary schools. The programme promotes a culture of learning and provides targeted support to prevent at-risk learners from dropping out.
What do YeBoneers do?
YeBoneers on the YearBeyond @HomeLearning Programme serve as Community Education Activators.
As a YeBoneer on the @Homelearning Programme your role will include (amongst other activities):
Ensure Learners Feel Safe: Organise walking buses and provide support to keep learners safe and cared for.
Make Learning Enjoyable: Offer homework assistance while serving as big brother/sister role models and lead fun and engaging community activities.
Strengthen Learning at Home: Conduct home visits and facilitate workshops for caregivers to strengthen parent-child relationships and learning at home.
Track Progress: Collect data on learner attendance and programme activities to drive success.
What are the eligibility requirements?
You can apply for the YearBeyond WCED @HomeLearning Programme if:
You are 18-25 years old.
You have a matric certificate.
You live in or close to one of the areas where the programme is implemented.
You are passionate about working with learners and caregivers.
Meeting these eligibility requirements does not guarantee selection for the programme. To be considered, you must meet the eligibility requirements and then be selected through the recruitment selection process.
