About the ECD Programme
The YearBeyond Little Explorers ECD Programme supports ECD Centres and households in local communities. The programme builds pre-school children's literacy and gross motor skills by encouraging a love of stories and supporting physical movement.
What do YeBoneers do?
YeBoneers on the YearBeyond ECD Programme serve as ECD Facilitators.
As a YeBoneer in the ECD Programme your role will include (amongst other activities):
Lead ECD Programmes: Run fun activities that help children develop reading, movement, and coordination skills at ECD centres once a week.
Visit Households: Go to homes where children don’t attend an ECD centre and provide learning support every afternoon.
Encourage Learning: Help children love learning through stories and physical play.
Track Progress: Collect data on learner attendance and programme activities to drive success.
What are the eligibility requirements?
You can apply for the YearBeyond Early Childhood Development (ECD) Programme if:
You are 18-25 years old
At least a grade 10.
You live in or close to one of the areas where the programme is implemented. (See the list of areas below.)
You are passionate about working with pre-school children.
Meeting these eligibility requirements does not guarantee selection for the programme. To be considered, you must meet the eligibility requirements and complete the entire application.
