YearBeyond is calling on young people under 25 to give a year beyond their matric or tertiary studies to help expand the educational horizons of learners in under-resourced schools.
At the same time you will be given the chance to gain valuable life and leadership skills, expand your social and economic networks, access bursary and work experience opportunities, and make a real contribution towards positive change in South Africa.

Each volunteer will need to submit an application and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and then security checked.
NOTE: YearBeyond offers a small travel stipend to remunerate volunteers for transport costs incurred through their participation in the programme. Volunteers are NOT salaried employees and the stipend offered is not sufficient to support dependants. Volunteers do not receive any benefits that salaried employees receive.
In addition to the work you'll be doing to support learners in schools, as a volunteer you'll be building your personal profile and setting yourself up for success in the long term.
The Volunteer Development Programme has been crafted to support you in your efforts in schools, and also to prepare you for the world of work and tertiary studies.
